Main Park News – 1st November

Alton Towers has now closed after a very successful 2004 season. The park will reopen after the closed season on the 12th March – hopefully to the arrival of RITA – more news to follow.

Forbidden Valley has been said to be one of the most intense areas and the best themed area in the park and I don’t think many would disagree. Forbidden Valley is home to Nemesis and AIR – the world’s first flying rollercoaster.

Gloomy Wood is a Zoombie / Spooky themed area, home to duel – an interactive laser gun ride where the object is to shoot the Spooks down. At the end of the ride everyone gets a score to compare with their friends.

Katanga Canyon is themed on a small African settlement. The two rides, the Congo River Rapids and the Runaway Mine Train both exploring the jungle like themeing.

The Towers – Hex The legend of the Towers is the only attraction within the Alton Towers itself, this ride will really turn your mind inside out!

Merrie England houses a great variety of attractions, first get soaked on the Log Flume, laze around on the swans and get dizzy on the teacups.

UG Land is a very well themed (dinosaur age) family area. Well the thrill seekers challenge Corkscrew the rest of the family can get wet on the soak-a-saurus or ride the UG swinger.

X Sector is not an area not for the faint hearted, it houses the world’s first ever vertical rollercoaster – Oblivion and other high adrenaline rides such Enterprise, Submission and the Black Hole.
