In 1984, Enterprise was installed in Festival Park (UG
Land). The ride stayed in this area till the 1998 season when it was moved
to the new X-sector just before Oblivion had been completed and gives a
extra dimension alongside the mighty Oblivion, Black hole and Submission.
Enterprise is a very strange ride to explain and one you would expect to
find at a fair not a theme park! The first thing that you notice on boarding
the ride is that there are no restraints of any kind, in-fact this makes you
wonder how the hell you are a supposed to get out of the carriage alive if
it spins up-side-down ten times!
Before you know it the ride begins to spin round and round, so-what ???
you’re thinking , but then as if to answer your question, the ride starts to
tilt on its side. Don’t worry, you won’t fall out !!! The forces generated
by the sheer speed of the ride make sure you won’t move from the seat.
Slowly and surely the wheel begins to tilt even further and further till you
are actually up-side-down ! The best bit I consider to be when you are
plummeting back down to the ground and you feel as if your stomach is in the
carriage behind. As the wheel reaches 90 degrees it swiftly comes back down,
to the relief of many passengers.
