The entrance of Hex is actually a huge door into the towers itself, once inside there is a long queue line winding up and down, the isle. It is very dark inside and televisions start telling you a story of a hidden vault being found many years ago when old Towers maps were studied. Once through the first door after 25 minutes of boredom in the queue you are all made to stand round a huge television telling you the story of when the Earl came to the towers, he was confronted by a beggar asking his for money. He refused and was cursed by the woman saying 'every time a branch falls from the oak tree, a member of your family will die', and true to her word that night a dreadful storm hit the towers and a member of his family dyed of a very strange death. After this room you then proceed into the second room where another television tells of how the Earl had all the branches on the tree chained up and also that the branch that fell had been taken to the secret vault as the Earl wanted to prove that it had secret powers.

The secret vault itself is the main part of the ride, there are 4 rows (two each side, facing each other) and 20 people to a row. When everyone has sat down the whole seating area moves from side to side (like Blade), then the disorientation kicks in, the room then starts to move the same and sometimes different directions, so at points you think you are up-side-down! I think this part is great as you are totally mystified and are actually tilting more than 45 degrees. You leave the ride on the other side of the ride to the side you entered on, through numerous passages and into the gardens in the Tower's grounds themselves.

Queues often exceed an hour for Hex, in my opinion the best time to ride is first thing or if you are a thrill seeker head to the big three rollercoaster's first thing in the morning and ride Hex at lunchtime.
