When the log flume originally
opened in the 1981 season it was the longest in the world but is now an “old
ride” and in need of not just some fixing but a complete makeover, as there
are many holes in the track and water leaks absolutely everywhere!
The ride
is surprisingly long as you can hardly see any of it from the queue line.
The first drop is nothing to special but the track twists and turns, then up
a further hill lift and into a pitch black tunnel, “don’t breakdown” you’re
thinking to yourself! In this tunnel you haven’t a clue where you are going
until you suddenly go up slightly and then plummet down, more dark tunnel
and eventually out into the light. The log trains are then taken up
the biggest hill lift and you see a sign saying ‘smile for the camera’ so
you know what’s going to happen next. The large drop is the best part of the
ride and makes sure you get wet, just make sure you don’t sit at the front!
So all in all the Log Flume despite its age is a great family ride, no
Splash Mountain or Hydro but an excellent ride on a warm, summers day.
