Ripsaw is a top-spin ride themed
as a piece of Shrapnel sprayed out of the hole when Nemesis was
discoed (read Nemesis review). The ride itself is pure fear, you are
usually (there are more than 12 sequences) taken up 50 meters or so
then released and the ride spins and spins until is it nearly
stationary and is then moved into position with riders facing down
with the pleasure of 35 sprays being turned on, everyone gets
soaked, there is no escape. The ride sequence continues and you are
tilted and turned up-side-down a number of times, then you are
released and eventually let back down to the ground where you can
get off with great joy.
Ripsaw is always a great
spectator event too, where crowds gather to hear the groans of
riders when they are spun up-side-down 5 times!
